Life is sufferingLord BuddhaWhy ?
Posted On 4/19/2013 11:00:04 AM By-Raj
The fist of the four noble truths that Lord Buddha taught us was "Life is suffering". I am not writing this because I am sad or depressed or anything. A logic behind this saying crossed my mind sometimes back.

The logic is that we have taken birth as humans because we have some unfinished job which once done will only take us to higher plane. Taking birth in this world itself means that we have some deficiencies left in us and thus we have to pay for it. And that is why automatically life is suffering because we have taken birth to pay for our deficiencies. But this also means that every moment that we are happy or not sad, it is such a great blessing of god that despite having taken birth to suffer, we are still happy.

Thus I believe all those moments when we are suffering or are less than happy are actually normal moments for which we have taken birth. And all the happy moments are actually abnormal moments, a blessing. Lets accept the fact that suffering or less happy moments are not abnormal. Rather happy moments are abnormal.

After accepting, digesting and being in awareness about this fact of life, it will no more be as difficult as it seemed many a times. For every human suffering is normal ( due to our own karma) and happiness is abnormal ( a gift of God ). I accept it. Do you ?
